Skiing & Snowboarding

Due to its proximity to Mont Blanc, the Grand Massif ski domain has an excellent snow record. With 265 km of piste, covering 40,000 hectares, and skiing from 700 up to 2500 meters, the area is excellent for skiers and boarders from beginners to experienced off-pisters. There are 71 lifts for 146 pistes: 20 green; 64 blue; 49 red; and 13 black runs, with a wealth of excellent off-piste in between. For those keen to perfect their 360s, there's a choice of 16 snow parks for all levels. Click on the image below to open a high definition PDF of the piste map...

Not to be missed is the 14km long blue run, Les Cascades, from the very top of Flaine, all the way down into Sixt village. The domain also boasts 16 'Zones Ludiques' (fun zones) where beginners right through to pro's can improve their technique in the Forêt Myztérieuze de ZiziPanpan or the challenging boardercross zone.

Samoëns is also a great destination for non-skiers, other activities include 90 km cross country pistes, 60 km of marked tracks for snow shoeing, paragliding, ice climbing, dog sledding, alpine walking, ice skating, guided heritage tours and a world renowned alpine botanical garden.

Private Shuttles

We provide complimentary shuttles between the chalet and the Samoëns 1600 and Vercland ski stations. So there is no walking in ski gear, or waiting for ski buses, and you can be skiing within 5 minutes of leaving the chalet.

In the mornings we drop you right at the nursery slopes (ski school meeting point) or at the top of a green, blue, or red piste, at Samoëns 1600.

In the afternoons we can either pick you up from the same drop-off point, or from the Reposette in Vercland (our favourite après bar).

Simply find your name on the shuttles blackboard and tick the time slot you want that day on your way out of the chalet.

Lessons

Taking ski lessons is easy in Samoëns. We can book private or group lessons at either the French or English ski school, both of which host lessons with English speaking guides. Let us know what you are looking for and we can get quotes and book it for you in advance (recommended during school holidays when they tend to get booked up).

We can drop you off in the morning at the Ski School meeting point at Samoëns 1600, meaning there's no queuing for over-crowded early morning lifts, or trudging around in ski boots, which is especially welcome if you've got little ones in tow.

Equipment

Take the pain out of ski hire by booking online with our recommended supplier in advance which will get you a 25% discount off prices advertised in resort. We'll take you up there on your first day to collect your equipment and then you simply leave it at the chalet at the end of your week for them to collect, saving you from having to go back to their shop after a tiring week's skiing. If you forget to book in advance, ask us for our 20% discount card which you can use once you arrive. They also offer a 10% discount on any accessories or clothing that our guests purchase.

They will let you switch your equipment during the week, so if you like to alternate between skiing and snowboarding, or simply try a different model, then you can do this free of charge with our recommended supplier.

Passes

Choose between the smaller 'Massif' ski pass which covers Samoëns, Sixt, Morillon and Les Carroz, or the larger 'Grand Massif' Ski pass which also includes Flaine, the highest resort in the domain. Family passes, children's passes and day passes are also available, so call us to discuss what would suit you best.

Let us take the pain out of sorting lift passes. We can order them for you and have them waiting for you at the chalet when you arrive. Alternatively, you can order them yourself and have them delivered either to your home address or to our chalet.

Transfers

We include a shared return transfer to and from Geneva Airport (private upgrade available on request) and the chalet is just 75 minutes away giving you one less thing to worry about and more time on your holiday to relax and ski.

If you're self-driving, we have free parking for 6 cars and you can park up in the main car park at Samoëns 1600 for free all through the Winter and Summer seasons.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in time is 4pm and Check-out is 10am.

We can store your bags and equipment if you need to arrive earlier or leave later, and drop you into Samoëns village, but the chalet does need to be vacated between 10am and 4pm to allow us to get everything ready.

Lunch Spots

Here's a few places up on the mountain that you might like to try for a spot of lunch, or maybe a cheeky Vin Chaud...

Après

There's a wealth of options for Après ski throughout the domain. Ski back to either Samoëns 1600, Vercland or Morillon and we will collect you from the bar in plenty of time for dinner. Here's a few of the choices you have...
